“Adjust Yo’ Eyes For
This Darkness”
Nov 1 - Dec 13, 2019

"Adjust Yo' Eyes For This Darkness" is the culminating exhibition at Ashara Ekundayo Gallery after 2 full years of collective trauma-informed arts programming and community organizing around designing intentional community, Black womxn's creative practice, anti-displacement for Black artists in Oakland, and the intersection of spirituality & social justice. The show features the multi-media work of 9 Black womxn living throughout the US, in Amsterdam, and in South Africa and is curated by Ashara Ekundayo in conjunction with a series of community offerings, workshops, and pop-ups over the course of the six week run.

May you be reminded again of the power of the darkness through the eyelids of the Divine Feminine. ~ Ashara Ekundayo
