The Church of Black Feminist Thought is facilitating an evening study group centering the theme “radical placekeeping” w quotes from bell hooks, Angela Davis, Katherine McKittrick and more!

It’s a potluck gathering that invites you to bring all the knowledge and your body carries as we pursue deeper understanding! Come, share!

*here's what we're envisioning the 2.5 hours will look like:

First 30 mins//arriving, mingling with food, dancing

Second 30 mins//embodied meditation, invocation & setting the stage

Third 30 mins//small group study

Fourth 30 mins//share back/discussion/freewrite

Fifth 30 mins//regrounding

<come when you can//invocation and small group study starts around 6:30pm>

we want to emphasize that our study group is about engaging with the work of black feminist thinkers in ways that move beyond just reading and writing. so, you are in no way required to read or print anything in advance. that said, we still want to share materials by the thinkers we'll be studying. In the folder we created [radical placekeeping] there are a few essays and books by the folks we'll be calling in. Feel free to check out the quotes doc of quotes we’re going to study at Church.
