Join us for the opening reception of Endless Supply: Works by Sam Vernon, during February’s Oakland Art Murmur.

Endless Supply: Works by Sam Vernon ushers in our 1-Year Anniversary and is the first ever solo exhibition at Ashara Ekundayo Gallery!

Endless Supply features Xerox drawings, collages and objects derived from printmaking techniques to discuss transmission and boundless narratives. Vernon explores drawing as technology and questions how the image is transformed when it is reproduced as direct digital media. The active “ghosting” of an image, copying and multiplying the original, subtlety exploits the notion of a pure identification of black and white and signifies the essentialism of symbolic meaning and all its associations.

Sam Vernon, featured on Huffington Post's "30 Contemporary Art Makers Under 40 You Should Know," uses installation and performance to confront questions concerning personal narrative, historical memory and identity. She lives in Oakland, CA and teaches printmaking as an Assistant Professor at California College of the Arts (CCA).  More Info at
