'The Black Woman is God: The Assembly of Gods' at AEG Opening and Procession

Ashara Ekundayo Gallery is proud to present an East Bay showing of The Black Woman is God: The Assembly of Gods. This show will be on view from October 3 to October 26, with an opening public reception on Friday, October 5th from 6-10pm. At 7 pm, Afia Walking Tree, Regina's Door/Sanctuary, and Ashara Ekundayo Gallery will co-lead a procession that will reveal beauty as a site of resistance to annihilation.

Ashara Ekundayo Gallery (AEG) is an arts exhibition and events venue located in the Uptown/KONO Arts District in Oakland, CA that exclusively showcases the archival, contemporary art, and new media works of Black women of the African Diaspora, and artistic creations made in collaboration with Black women. Highlighting artistic production across a myriad of disciplines, AEG specializes in displaying works that investigate and inspire social and spiritual inquiry at the intersection of Fact x the Black feminist imaginary x Afrofuturism.
